What is the Silver Cord Program? At graduation we always recognize outstanding academic achievement, often signified by the gold NHS cords worn by students. While academic achievement is important, we believe that giving back to others, engaging in the community, and passion for change should be valued as well. As a result, the Silver Cord program was created as a way to recognize outstanding community service and volunteerism. There are strict requirements in order to maintain the integrity of the program. If a student meets all of the minimum requirements and follows all expectations, they will be able to purchase silver cords through Ms. Domres to wear at graduation.
